Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Loss Adjuster to join our dynamic team in Bremen. This is a critical role that sits at the intersection of client support, detailed investigation, and expert negotiation. As a Loss Adjuster, you will be the frontline representative for our clients, providing crucial support during challenging times following insured events. Your primary responsibility will be to meticulously investigate, assess, and quantify damages for various types of claims, including property, liability, and potentially more complex commercial losses. This involves conducting thorough on-site inspections, interviewing policyholders and witnesses, collecting evidence, and collaborating with a network of experts such as engineers, surveyors, and forensic specialists to determine the cause, extent, and value of losses.

Beyond technical assessment, this role demands exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for clearly explaining policy coverages and claim processes to clients, managing expectations, and negotiating fair and equitable settlements in line with policy terms and conditions. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough on-site investigations to assess the cause, nature, and extent of damages for various insurance claims (e.g., property, casualty, liability).
  • Interview policyholders, witnesses, and other relevant parties to gather comprehensive information and evidence.
  • Liaise with external experts such as engineers, surveyors, and forensic specialists to determine the technical aspects of a loss.
  • Prepare detailed, accurate, and objective reports outlining findings, estimated costs, and settlement recommendations.
  • Interpret insurance policies, terms, and conditions to determine coverage applicability for reported losses.
  • Negotiate fair and equitable settlements with policyholders and third parties, adhering to company guidelines and legal standards.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, including clients, brokers, and internal teams, throughout the claims process.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring timely progression and resolution of claims.
  • Identify and mitigate potential fraudulent claims through diligent investigation and verification processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in loss adjusting and insurance claims management.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Loss Adjuster or in a similar claims management role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and resolve disputes professionally.
  • Proficiency in claims management software and standard office applications.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently within the Bremen region and occasionally beyond.
  • High degree of integrity, empathy, and professional judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional insurance qualifications or certifications (e.g., Fachwirt für Versicherung und Finanzen or equivalent).
  • Experience with complex commercial losses or specific technical areas (e.g., marine, construction).
  • Familiarity with German insurance law and regulatory frameworks.
