Key Responsibilities
- Conduct covert and overt surveillance to detect and apprehend individuals engaging in theft or fraudulent activities.
- Monitor CCTV systems and alarms to identify suspicious behavior or security breaches.
- Respond promptly and effectively to all security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
- Investigate reported incidents of theft, fraud, and internal irregularities, preparing detailed reports and evidence.
- Ensure compliance with all company loss prevention policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies as required for investigations and prosecutions.
- Educate and train store employees on loss prevention awareness and procedures.
- Conduct regular security audits and inspections to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of all incidents, investigations, and security-related activities.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and secure shopping and working environment for customers and employees.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in loss prevention, security, or a similar field.
- Strong observational and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to operate CCTV and other surveillance equipment proficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to diffuse tense situations professionally.
- Solid understanding of retail security procedures and best practices.
- Proficiency in German (verbal and written) is essential for local communication.
- Ability to stand, walk, and be mobile for extended periods.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications in security or loss prevention (e.g., VdS, IHK Sachkundeprüfung gem. § 34a GewO).
- First aid and basic fire safety certification.
- Experience with advanced security technologies and inventory management systems.
- Bilingual skills (German/English or other relevant languages).
