Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Machine Operator to join our dynamic production team at our state-of-the-art factory in Beau Bassin-Rose Hill. As a Machine Operator, you will be a critical component of our manufacturing process, responsible for the efficient and safe operation of various production machinery. This role involves setting up, adjusting, and running equipment that produces our high-quality textile products, ensuring that all output meets our rigorous quality standards and production targets. You will be expected to monitor machine performance, conduct routine inspections, troubleshoot minor issues, and maintain a clean and organized work area. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production machinery according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
- Perform routine machine setup, adjustments, and changeovers to meet production schedules.
- Monitor machine performance, identify and report any malfunctions or defects promptly.
- Conduct quality checks on products during the production process to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Maintain accurate production records, including downtime, output, and quality control data.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on machinery as required.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and quality control standards.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and maintenance staff.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to efficiency initiatives.
- Handle raw materials and finished goods safely and efficiently, ensuring proper storage and handling.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing or production environment (textile industry preferred).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as blueprints or schematics (basic level).
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity to operate machinery and handle materials.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced factory setting.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures in a manufacturing context.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and machine interface operation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (Form V/SC or equivalent).
- Vocational training or certification in machine operation, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
- Experience with textile manufacturing equipment (e.g., weaving, knitting, cutting, sewing machines).
- Forklift operation certification (if applicable to material handling in the facility).
- First Aid and/or Fire Safety certification.
