Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Full-Time Machinist to join our innovative team in the vibrant RWTH Aachen University Area. As a Machinist at Career.zycto, you will be instrumental in operating and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, as well as conventional lathes, mills, and grinders. Your daily tasks will involve interpreting complex engineering blueprints, setting up machines, selecting appropriate tools and materials, and meticulously monitoring production to ensure parts meet exact specifications and quality standards. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can troubleshoot effectively, and is committed to continuous improvement in both process and product. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, set up, and program CNC machines (mills, lathes) and conventional machining equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
  • Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust controls as necessary.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, and other production staff to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Document production activities, including completed work, inspections, and any detected deviations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in operating and setting up CNC milling and turning centers.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and G-code.
  • Expertise in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of various metal properties and appropriate machining techniques.
  • Experience with machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Adherence to strict quality control standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a technical apprenticeship or vocational training in machining or a related field.
  • Experience with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidCAM, Fusion 360).
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Prior experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
  • German language proficiency (B1 level or higher) is a plus.
