Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance (PPM) on plant machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults promptly and efficiently.
- Implement effective corrective actions to minimize downtime and prevent recurrence of equipment issues.
- Conduct fault-finding and programming adjustments on PLC systems and associated control gear.
- Support the installation, commissioning, and optimization of new equipment and process improvements.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records, logs, and documentation.
- Collaborate proactively with production and operations teams to schedule and coordinate maintenance activities.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for enhanced efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- Undertake welding, fabrication, and general engineering tasks as required to support site operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in fault diagnosis and problem-solving on complex industrial machinery.
- Demonstrable experience with PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) for fault finding and basic programming.
- Familiarity with relevant Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in a team.
- Strong organizational abilities and effective time management.
- Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., HNC/HND, City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering).
Preferred Qualifications
- Time-served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Proficiency in welding (MIG/TIG/ARC) and fabrication.
- Valid forklift or Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) license.
