Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on a wide range of industrial machinery, equipment, and building infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues with precision.
  • Execute timely and effective repairs to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operational flow.
  • Strictly adhere to all health and safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records, logs, and work orders using a CMMS.
  • Collaborate effectively with production teams, engineers, and other departments to schedule and coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, energy efficiency gains, and equipment reliability enhancements.
  • Participate actively in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry best practices and technology.
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with relevant industry standards, statutory regulations, and internal quality procedures.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency breakdowns, providing rapid fault finding and resolution.
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of new machinery and systems.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Maintenance Technician or a similar industrial role.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
  • Solid understanding of safety procedures and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to fault diagnosis.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a valued member of a team.
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) in English, for technical documentation and collaboration.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity required for manual tasks, lifting, and working in various environments.
  • Familiarity with various hand and power tools common in industrial maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational training, HNC/HND, or relevant certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance, City & Guilds).
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Welding, fabrication, or pipefitting skills.
  • Forklift license or other relevant mobile equipment operation certification.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
