Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, machinery, and equipment according to schedules and manufacturer specifications.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in production machinery, facility infrastructure, and utility systems, implementing effective and timely repairs.
- Conduct electrical installations, repairs, and inspections, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations (e.g., 18th Edition wiring regulations).
- Carry out mechanical repairs, including hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, pumps, and conveyor systems.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational continuity.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in our CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with production teams and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruption.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with industrial machinery.
- Proficiency in electrical systems, including fault finding, motor controls, and three-phase power.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and diagnostic capabilities.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations in a workplace setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
- Familiarity with CMMS software.
- Forklift license or experience operating other heavy machinery.
