Career.zycto is actively seeking a diligent and skilled Maintenance Worker – Facility Grounds to join our dedicated team in El Monte, California. This vital role is central to maintaining the aesthetic appeal, safety, and functionality of our entire facility and surrounding grounds. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for a wide array of maintenance tasks, ensuring our property remains a pristine and welcoming environment for all occupants and visitors. Your daily duties will encompass everything from routine landscaping and groundskeeping to performing minor repairs, preventative maintenance on equipment, and assisting with facility upkeep projects. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general groundskeeping duties including mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, planting, and irrigation system maintenance.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities and grounds to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.
- Execute minor repairs on buildings, equipment, and fixtures, such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks.
- Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, and light machinery (e.g., lawnmowers, blowers, pressure washers).
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of facility events, including moving furniture and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, demonstrating problem-solving skills.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed, supplies used, and hours worked.
- Perform seasonal tasks such as leaf removal, snow removal (if applicable), and preparation of grounds for changing weather.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members and departments to ensure seamless operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in general maintenance, groundskeeping, or a related field.
- Proficiency in operating various landscaping equipment and power tools safely.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building repairs.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and safety instructions.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bend, stoop, climb ladders, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid California Driver's License and a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
