As our go-to expert for all things related to general maintenance and repair, you will be responsible for a wide array of tasks that keep our operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair work on facilities and equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues promptly.
- Execute minor carpentry, plastering, painting, and decorating tasks to a high standard.
- Conduct preventative maintenance routines to ensure optimal operational efficiency and prolong asset life.
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and fault reports, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs performed, and inventory used.
- Assist in setting up and dismantling equipment for various events and meetings.
- Manage and store tools and equipment properly and safely, reporting any damage or loss.
- Collaborate effectively with external contractors and service providers when necessary for specialised tasks.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Maintenance Worker, Handyperson, or similar role.
- Proficiency in a variety of repair tasks, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities to identify and rectify issues efficiently.
- Ability to safely and effectively use various hand and power tools.
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures, including manual handling and COSHH.
- Excellent physical condition, capable of performing strenuous tasks, lifting, and working at heights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with staff and contractors.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant vocational training or certifications (e.g., City & Guilds in a trade discipline).
- Experience with building management systems (BMS).
- First Aid certification.
- Valid UK driving license.
- Prior experience in a commercial property, hospitality, or office maintenance setting.
