Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Line Supervisor to join our dynamic team at Narok Cereal Mills Ltd. This critical role involves overseeing the daily operations of a designated production line, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are consistently met. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader, adept at managing a team of production operators, optimizing workflow, and proactively addressing any operational challenges. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of production line workers, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
  • Monitor production processes, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize output.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000).
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate production staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Prepare daily production reports, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and identify areas for process improvement.
  • Manage raw material inventory on the line, minimizing waste and ensuring efficient material flow.
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections and coordinate with maintenance for timely repairs to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and waste reduction on the production line.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food processing or FMCG.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in production planning and control.
  • Demonstrable understanding of quality control principles and food safety regulations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Office Suite).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Production Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
