Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist boaters with docking, mooring, and departure procedures, ensuring a smooth and safe experience.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering inquiries, offering local information, and resolving minor issues with a friendly demeanor.
- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of marina facilities, including docks, restrooms, common areas, and storage spaces.
- Monitor marina security, conduct regular patrols, and report any suspicious activity, maintenance needs, or safety concerns.
- Operate and maintain marina equipment such as golf carts, utility vehicles, and basic cleaning tools.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks on docks, gangways, and equipment as needed, under supervision.
- Handle retail sales of fuel, ice, basic boating supplies, and process transactions accurately.
- Assist with the setup and execution of special events, regattas, or community activities held at the marina.
- Ensure strict compliance with all marina rules, safety regulations, and environmental policies to protect patrons and the ecosystem.
Required Skills
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills, with a positive and helpful attitude.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
- Physical stamina and capability to perform duties outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 25 kg.
- Basic understanding of boating terminology, marine safety procedures, or a strong willingness to learn quickly.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in German and English, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with a diverse clientele.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a marina, waterfront, hospitality, or outdoor service setting.
- Current First Aid and/or CPR certification.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or hands-on experience with small engines and general maintenance.
- Familiarity with local waterways, marine conditions, and attractions in the Gelsenkirchen area.
