As a Marina Hospitality Aide, you will be the friendly face that guests first encounter, embodying our commitment to excellence and comfort. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining the pristine condition of our facilities, assisting with guest inquiries, and providing essential support to our marina operations. Your day will be diverse, ranging from greeting arriving boaters with a warm smile to ensuring common areas are spotless and well-stocked. You’ll help with various tasks, from directing visitors to their moorings to assisting with light event setup, all while contributing to a positive and engaging atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and assist marina guests, visitors, and boaters upon arrival and departure.
  • Provide accurate information regarding marina services, local attractions, and amenities.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of all marina facilities, including common areas, restrooms, and reception areas, ensuring they meet high standards.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of small events, gatherings, or special functions held at the marina.
  • Monitor and efficiently restock supplies in common areas, ensuring all necessary items are available.
  • Support general marina operations, which may include light administrative tasks, answering phones, and responding to general inquiries.
  • Proactively handle guest requests and promptly resolve minor issues or concerns, escalating complex situations to management as necessary.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a secure and pleasant environment for both guests and staff.
  • Assist with docking and undocking procedures for boats as needed, providing guidance and support to boaters.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
  • Good organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Basic computer proficiency for administrative tasks and communication.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and perform light lifting (up to 20 kg) occasionally throughout shifts.
  • Reliability and punctuality for all scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, as required by business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (at least 6 months) in hospitality, customer service, or a marina/leisure environment.
  • Familiarity with local area attractions, restaurants, and services in Abeokuta and surrounding areas.
  • Basic knowledge of water safety principles or boating terminology.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages, particularly Yoruba and English, to cater to a diverse clientele.
