Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the mooring and unmooring of vessels, securing lines and gangways.
- Support cargo loading and unloading operations, including proper stowage and handling.
- Conduct routine inspections of dock infrastructure, equipment, and safety gear.
- Report any maintenance needs, safety hazards, or operational discrepancies to supervisors.
- Participate in general dock housekeeping and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with the inventory and tracking of operational supplies and equipment.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations rigorously.
- Operate basic dock equipment under supervision, such as forklifts or cranes, if certified.
- Communicate effectively with vessel crew, truck drivers, and other port personnel.
