Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately process all transactions using various payment methods, including cash, credit cards, and mobile payments via POS systems.
  • Maintain precise inventory counts, monitor stock levels, and communicate replenishment needs to management in a timely manner.
  • Educate customers about products, including their origin, ingredients, features, benefits, and any special promotions.
  • Ensure the market stall remains clean, organized, and inviting throughout all operating hours.
  • Address customer inquiries, resolve minor issues politely and efficiently, and gather valuable customer feedback.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards relevant to product handling and food service, if applicable.
  • Assist with promotional activities, special market events, and sampling initiatives to attract new customers.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a customer-facing role, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse customers.
  • Proficiency in handling cash and processing financial transactions accurately.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 25 lbs (11 kg) and stand comfortably for extended periods.
  • Highly reliable and punctual with a strong, dedicated work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also effectively as part of a small, dynamic team.
  • Basic mathematical skills for calculating change, discounts, and managing inventory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a market, retail, or hospitality environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of local produce, artisanal goods, or specific product categories (e.g., baked goods, crafts, fresh foods).
