This remote role offers you the flexibility to work from your preferred location, provided you are based within Zimbabwe, allowing you to contribute to our iconic brands from Zvishavane, Midlands Province. As a Marketing Copy Editor, you will be the guardian of our brand voice, ensuring consistency, clarity, and compelling messaging across all our marketing and communication channels. You will meticulously review, edit, and proofread a wide array of content, including website copy, social media posts, email campaigns, press releases, advertising materials, internal communications, and product descriptions. Your keen eye for detail will not only catch grammatical errors and typos but also ensure that our content aligns with our strategic marketing objectives, resonates with our diverse target audiences, and adheres to brand style guidelines and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Edit and proofread marketing materials, including website content, social media posts, email newsletters, advertisements, press releases, and internal communications for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style.
- Ensure all content adheres to Innscor's brand voice, tone, and style guidelines, maintaining consistency across all platforms and campaigns.
- Verify factual accuracy, clarity, and conciseness of all copy, simplifying complex information for target audiences.
- Optimize content for SEO by incorporating relevant keywords naturally and effectively.
- Collaborate closely with content creators, marketing managers, graphic designers, and other stakeholders to understand campaign objectives and deliver impactful copy.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to content creators to enhance the overall quality and effectiveness of their writing.
- Manage multiple editing projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Stay updated on industry trends, marketing best practices, and evolving language standards to ensure our content remains fresh and relevant.
- Support the development and maintenance of comprehensive style guides and glossaries.
Required Skills
- Exceptional command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Proven experience as a copy editor or proofreader, preferably in a marketing or advertising agency or corporate marketing department.
- Strong understanding of marketing principles and the ability to tailor copy for various channels and target audiences.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and content optimization techniques.
- High attention to detail and a meticulous approach to editing.
