Are you a highly skilled and dedicated Mason with a passion for precision and an eye for detail? Career.zycto is seeking an experienced Wall & Tile Finishing Mason to join our growing team in Leeds. In this role, you will be instrumental in bringing architectural visions to life, working on a diverse range of residential and commercial properties across the Otley Road area and broader Leeds region. Your expertise will cover everything from laying bricks and blocks for structural integrity to executing exquisite tile installations that define the aesthetic of interior and exterior spaces. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute high-quality bricklaying, blocklaying, and stone masonry for various structural and decorative purposes.
  • Install a wide range of wall and floor tiles, including ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, and mosaic, ensuring accurate layout and grouting.
  • Prepare surfaces meticulously, including cleaning, levelling, and applying appropriate primers or membranes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures.
  • Measure and cut materials accurately, minimizing waste and optimizing efficiency.
  • Ensure all work adheres to building codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with site managers, other tradespeople, and project teams to ensure timely project completion.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to masonry and tiling work promptly and effectively.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Mason with a strong portfolio in both wall construction and tile finishing.
  • Proficiency in various masonry techniques (bricklaying, blocklaying, stonework).
  • Expertise in tile installation methods for different materials and applications.
  • Excellent understanding of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations on construction sites.
  • Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Trowel Occupations (Bricklaying) or Wall and Floor Tiling.
  • CSCS Card (Blue or Gold skilled worker card).
  • First Aid certification.
  • Experience with specialist tiling systems (e.g., wet rooms, large format tiles).
  • Full UK driving license with access to own transport.
