Your day-to-day will involve a variety of tasks, requiring both physical stamina and mental acuity. You’ll be responsible for accurately receiving incoming shipments, meticulously checking for discrepancies, and safely storing materials. Furthermore, you’ll pick and prepare orders for outgoing shipments, ensuring all items are correctly identified and packaged. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and process incoming materials and deliveries accurately.
- Verify quantities against purchase orders, noting any discrepancies or damages.
- Safely and efficiently move materials to designated storage areas using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts).
- Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing orders for shipment according to specific instructions.
- Perform regular inventory counts and assist with maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Operate warehouse equipment responsibly and conduct daily equipment checks.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks and other vehicles.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding material status or issues.
Required Skills
- Previous experience as a Material Handler, Warehouse Operative, or similar role.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Basic computer literacy for inventory management systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Forklift (Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck) license.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Familiarity with inventory control processes.
