Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and fault-finding on various vehicle systems (engine, transmission, braking, steering, electrical).
- Execute routine vehicle servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and safety checks.
- Conduct complex repairs on engines, gearboxes, clutches, and suspension systems.
- Carry out brake system inspections, repairs, and replacements.
- Utilise advanced diagnostic equipment and specialist tools to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues accurately.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation of all work performed.
- Advise customers on necessary repairs and preventative maintenance, explaining technical issues clearly.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient workshop environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Mechanic/Technician in an auto repair setting.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
- Proficiency in using a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of vehicle systems, components, and their functions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid UK Driving Licence.
Preferred Qualifications
- MOT Tester qualification (Class 4/7).
- Experience with hybrid and electric vehicles (EV/PHEV) systems.
