Job Description
NPD Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Musanze, Northern Province. Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and implement mechanical systems for construction machinery, plant operations, and project-specific requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical failures and develop effective, timely solutions to minimize downtime.
- Prepare technical specifications, engineering drawings, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with civil engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems into overall project designs.
- Evaluate and recommend new mechanical technologies or equipment to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure all mechanical work complies with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with suppliers for necessary components.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in a construction or heavy industry setting
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating machinery
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng) license or eligibility for registration in Rwanda
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies
- Knowledge of Rwandan construction codes and standards
- Proficiency in Kinyarwanda
