Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our vibrant industrial clients in Machakos County, Kenya. This is an exceptional opportunity for a professional who thrives on challenge and innovation, ready to make a significant impact on critical projects from conceptualization through to implementation and optimization. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge mechanical solutions across various industrial sectors, including manufacturing, processing, and infrastructure. This role offers a unique chance to shape the physical backbone of Kenya’s burgeoning industrial landscape, working with diverse machinery, systems, and technologies that drive economic progress.
Your role will involve a comprehensive range of engineering activities. You will be instrumental in conducting detailed mechanical design and analysis, leveraging advanced CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor, and simulation tools (FEA) to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety of systems and components. Beyond the drawing board, you will oversee the full lifecycle of mechanical projects, from initial feasibility studies and intricate cost estimation to meticulous procurement, precise installation, and rigorous commissioning. This includes seamlessly liaising with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, production managers, and quality assurance specialists, as well as external vendors and contractors, to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the highest international quality standards. Your expertise will be crucial in translating complex engineering principles into tangible, operational assets.
A key aspect of this position will be your involvement in improving operational efficiency and sustainability. You will proactively identify opportunities for process optimization, energy conservation, and waste reduction within existing industrial setups, proposing and implementing innovative mechanical upgrades that enhance productivity and minimize environmental footprint. Furthermore, you will be responsible for developing and implementing robust preventative and corrective maintenance strategies, meticulously troubleshooting complex mechanical issues that may arise, and ensuring strict compliance with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations (OSHA, local Kenyan standards), and environmental guidelines. This role offers a dynamic environment where your technical expertise, sharp problem-solving abilities, and unwavering commitment to engineering excellence will directly contribute to the growth and success of industries vital to Kenya’s economic development. We are looking for an individual passionate about continuous learning, eager to embrace new technologies, and contribute proactively to a culture of engineering innovation.
