Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical faults in industrial plant machinery and equipment.
- Perform routine preventative and predictive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
- Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production, electrical, and automation teams to ensure seamless plant operations.
- Install, commission, and de-commission mechanical equipment as required.
- Develop and update maintenance procedures, checklists, and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for operational efficiency and equipment reliability.
- Manage spare parts inventory and liaise with suppliers for essential components.
- Mentor junior technicians and share technical knowledge across the team.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in mechanical fault diagnosis and repair techniques.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, pumps, valves, and rotating machinery.
- Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance methodologies (e.g., vibration analysis, thermal imaging).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Competence in using various hand and power tools safely.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
- Experience in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or energy sector environment.
