Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Execute repairs, replacements, and installations of mechanical components, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and safety protocols.
- Conduct regular inspections and performance checks on machinery to predict and prevent potential failures.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to guide maintenance and repair activities.
- Collaborate with production, electrical, and other engineering teams to optimize equipment performance and resolve complex issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts used.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.
- Good communication skills in English (verbal and written).
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in an industrial environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant vocational qualification or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Forklift operation certification or similar heavy machinery experience.
- Knowledge of welding, fabrication, or machining techniques.
- Previous experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., food and beverage, pharmaceutical, automotive).
