Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Execute repairs, replacements, and installations of mechanical components, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections and performance checks on machinery to predict and prevent potential failures.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to guide maintenance and repair activities.
  • Collaborate with production, electrical, and other engineering teams to optimize equipment performance and resolve complex issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts used.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.
  • Good communication skills in English (verbal and written).
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in an industrial environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant vocational qualification or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Forklift operation certification or similar heavy machinery experience.
  • Knowledge of welding, fabrication, or machining techniques.
  • Previous experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., food and beverage, pharmaceutical, automotive).
