We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Technicians to join our world-class manufacturing team at Jaguar Land Rover’s Halewood facility in Liverpool, England. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and calibration on a wide range of mechanical equipment, including conveyors, presses, robotic arms, and assembly machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical faults and failures on production lines using systematic problem-solving techniques.
- Execute timely and effective repairs, including part replacement, fabrication, and precision adjustments, to minimize downtime.
- Utilise schematics, technical drawings, and manuals to guide maintenance and repair activities.
- Collaborate with electrical technicians, production teams, and engineering colleagues to ensure integrated system performance.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and procedures.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately in the maintenance management system.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in machine performance, reliability, and safety.
- Participate in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
- Provide technical support and guidance to less experienced technicians and apprentices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment (minimum 3 years).
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- A strong commitment to health and safety regulations and practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced production environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Willingness to work shifts as required by production schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Prior experience in the automotive manufacturing sector.
- Knowledge of robotic systems maintenance (e.g., KUKA, ABB, Fanuc).
