Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Media Buyer with a ‘remote option’ to join our vibrant marketing team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing digital media campaigns across various platforms to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and brand awareness for Equity Bank’s diverse financial products and services. You will manage significant media budgets, conduct in-depth analysis of campaign performance, and identify opportunities for optimization to maximize return on investment. This role requires a data-driven mindset, a deep understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem, and the ability to adapt to an evolving market. While this position offers a remote option, candidates should ideally be based within Embu County, Kenya, or be able to commute to a regional office occasionally for key meetings or collaborative sessions, offering the flexibility of a hybrid work model. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and optimize comprehensive digital media buying strategies across platforms such as Google Ads, Meta Ads (Facebook/Instagram), programmatic advertising, and other relevant channels.
  • Manage and allocate significant media budgets effectively to ensure campaigns achieve maximum ROI and meet pre-defined KPIs.
  • Conduct thorough audience research and segmentation to target the most relevant demographics for various banking products.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on campaign performance, utilizing analytics tools to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Perform A/B testing on ad creatives, landing pages, and targeting parameters to continuously improve campaign effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with content creators, designers, and marketing strategists to ensure media campaigns are aligned with overall marketing goals and brand guidelines.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, platform updates, and emerging advertising technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with media vendors and partners to secure optimal placements and pricing.
  • Provide regular, data-backed recommendations for campaign adjustments and future strategy development.
  • Ensure all campaigns comply with regulatory guidelines and internal policies, particularly within the financial services sector.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Media Buyer or Digital Marketing Specialist, with a strong focus on paid media.
  • Demonstrable expertise in managing campaigns on Google Ads (Search, Display, Video) and Meta Ads Manager (Facebook/Instagram).
  • Strong analytical skills, proficient in using data to drive decision-making and campaign optimization.
  • Excellent understanding of key performance metrics (CPA, ROAS, CTR, Conversion Rate) and their implications.
  • Proficiency in web analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
  • Solid understanding of tracking, attribution models, and conversion optimization techniques.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Google Ads and Meta Blueprint certifications.
  • Experience in financial services marketing or a highly regulated industry.
