Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary healthcare services to patients of all ages, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of various medical conditions.
- Conduct thorough patient histories, physical examinations, and interpret diagnostic tests to formulate accurate diagnoses.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications, ordering further investigations, and referring to specialists when necessary.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and confidential patient medical records in compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Participate in regular team meetings, contributing to clinical discussions and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Adhere strictly to medical ethics, professional guidelines, and all relevant healthcare regulations.
- Respond effectively to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as required.
Required Skills
- Valid medical license to practice in Nigeria (MDCN registration)
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- High level of empathy, compassion, and patient-centered approach
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency in basic medical procedures and emergency care
- Sound knowledge of general medicine, pediatrics, and common communicable/non-communicable diseases
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-NYSC experience in a busy clinic or hospital setting (minimum 2 years)
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Additional certifications in areas such as ACLS, BLS, or specific medical specialties
- Fluency in local Nigerian languages (e.g., Yoruba) is an advantage
