Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and medical histories for patients of all ages.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and other health conditions.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including prescribing medication and recommending therapeutic interventions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., lab work, imaging studies) to inform clinical decisions.
- Provide clear and compassionate patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, preventive care, and health maintenance.
- Manage and maintain accurate, up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR) for all patients.
- Refer patients to specialists as needed and collaborate with other healthcare professionals for holistic patient care.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate life support when necessary.
- Participate in continuous professional development activities and adhere to all medical ethics and legal requirements.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and maintain a safe and sterile clinical environment.
Required Skills
- MBBS or MBChB degree from a recognized institution.
- Current and valid medical license to practice in Nigeria (MDCN registration).
- Minimum of 2 years post-NYSC clinical experience.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and managing common medical conditions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification or residency training in General Practice, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related specialty.
- Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
