Key Responsibilities
- Receive, log, and prepare patient specimens (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) for laboratory analysis, ensuring proper identification and integrity.
- Perform basic laboratory procedures such as centrifugation, aliquoting, and preparing slides under supervision.
- Maintain laboratory equipment by cleaning, sterilizing, and performing routine quality control checks.
- Manage and organize laboratory supplies, including stock taking and ordering to ensure adequate inventory levels.
- Adhere strictly to all laboratory safety protocols, quality assurance standards, and infection control guidelines.
- Assist Medical Technologists with routine tasks, data entry, and documentation of results.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all relevant information into laboratory information systems.
- Handle and dispose of biohazardous waste according to established procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (GCE 'O' Level / 'N' Level / NITEC)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.
