Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex and routine laboratory tests on various biological samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) using established protocols and procedures.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, including automated analyzers, microscopes, and centrifuges, ensuring optimal performance.
- Prepare reagents, stains, and solutions accurately and efficiently.
- Manage and process patient samples, including accessioning, aliquoting, and ensuring proper storage and disposal.
- Conduct quality control checks and instrument calibrations, documenting all results and escalating any deviations.
- Interpret and validate test results, ensuring accuracy and precision before releasing reports.
- Adhere strictly to all laboratory safety regulations, quality assurance guidelines, and infection control policies.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all tests performed, results, and quality control activities.
- Assist in the training and mentorship of junior laboratory staff or new team members.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with laboratory technology and practices.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding test results and sample requirements.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with equipment and assays as they arise, seeking assistance when necessary.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in phlebotomy and venipuncture techniques
- Strong knowledge of medical laboratory procedures and terminology
