Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe dictated medical reports, including patient histories, physical examinations, operative reports, consultation notes, discharge summaries, and other medical documents, accurately and efficiently.
- Utilize medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, diagnostic procedures, and pharmacological references to ensure precise transcription.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations and company privacy policies.
- Review and edit transcribed reports for accuracy, clarity, and completeness, identifying and correcting any discrepancies or errors.
- Manage and prioritize workload to meet established turnaround times for transcription.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding transcription needs, challenging dictations, or unclear audio.
- Operate and maintain transcription equipment and software efficiently.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of transcription processes and documentation standards.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Exceptional listening skills and ability to concentrate for extended periods.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Familiarity with various dictation and transcription software.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Typing speed of at least 65-70 WPM with high accuracy.
