Key Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe medical dictations from audio recordings into written reports, maintaining a high level of precision and adherence to quality standards.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammatical errors, punctuation, spelling, and consistency in medical terminology.
- Verify patient demographic information and ensure correct formatting in all reports.
- Adhere strictly to HIPAA guidelines and all company policies regarding patient confidentiality and data security.
- Efficiently utilize medical transcription software, digital dictation equipment, and word processing tools.
- Manage workload effectively to meet established turnaround times and deadlines.
- Communicate proactively with supervisors or team leads regarding unclear dictations, discrepancies, or technical issues.
- Stay current with changes in medical terminology, abbreviations, disease processes, and documentation best practices.
Required Skills
- Exceptional listening skills and high typing speed (minimum 60 WPM).
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
