Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately transcribe dictated medical reports, patient histories, discharge summaries, operative notes, consultation notes, and other medical documents.
  • Verify the accuracy of transcribed reports by cross-referencing with reference materials and clarifying inconsistencies with healthcare providers when necessary.
  • Ensure strict adherence to medical, legal, and ethical standards, including patient confidentiality (PDPA guidelines).
  • Proficiently utilize transcription equipment, specialized software, and word processing programs.
  • Thoroughly proofread and edit medical documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and clarity.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy, and disease processes.
  • Manage workflow effectively to meet specified deadlines for turnaround times on all transcription tasks.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with healthcare staff regarding unclear dictations or documentation requirements.

  • Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Transcriptionist (e.g., AHDI's CMT/RMT, or an equivalent local qualification)
  • Familiarity with various medical specialties and dictation styles across different clinical settings
  • Prior experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems for documentation input
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced clinical or hospital environment in Singapore
  • Ability to type at least 60-70 words per minute with consistently high accuracy
