Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Medical Transcriptionist to join our dedicated team. As a Medical Transcriptionist, you will be responsible for converting dictated or recorded medical reports from physicians and other healthcare professionals into accurate, comprehensive, and compliant written documents. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring that patient records, operative reports, discharge summaries, and other medical correspondence are transcribed flawlessly, maintaining strict confidentiality and adherence to medical terminology and ethical standards. Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe dictated medical reports, including patient histories, physicals, operative reports, consultation notes, discharge summaries, and other medical documents, with a high degree of accuracy and speed.
- Review and edit transcribed reports for grammatical errors, punctuation, spelling, and consistency.
- Ensure strict adherence to all HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality protocols.
- Verify proper medical terminology, pharmacological names, and anatomical references.
- Utilize medical reference materials and transcription software effectively to ensure precision.
- Manage and prioritize workload to meet established deadlines and turnaround times.
- Communicate effectively with team leads regarding any discrepancies or clarity issues in dictations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, legal and ethical requirements, and advancements in healthcare documentation practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Medical Transcriptionist in a clinical or remote setting.
- Exceptional proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to identify inconsistencies in dictation.
- Excellent listening and comprehension skills.
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Proficient in using transcription software and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Word).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
