Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including risk assessments, to formulate individualized care plans.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor for efficacy and side effects, and educate patients on medication management.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, including individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and psychoeducation.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting observations, interventions, and patient responses.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, coping strategies, and available community resources.
- Participate in ward rounds, case conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings to review patient progress.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, adhering to all clinical guidelines and safeguarding policies.
- Support patients in developing daily living skills and reintegrating into their communities.
- Advocate for patients' rights and ensure their dignity and respect are maintained at all times.
Required Skills
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with specialized training or certification in Mental Health Nursing.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a mental health setting (inpatient, outpatient, or community).
- Proven ability to conduct mental health assessments and develop care plans.
- Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize and build rapport with diverse patient populations.
- Proficiency in German (B2 level or higher) and English, both written and spoken.
