Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including risk assessments, to formulate individualized care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor for efficacy and side effects, and educate patients on medication management.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions, including individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and psychoeducation.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting observations, interventions, and patient responses.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, coping strategies, and available community resources.
  • Participate in ward rounds, case conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings to review patient progress.
  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, adhering to all clinical guidelines and safeguarding policies.
  • Support patients in developing daily living skills and reintegrating into their communities.
  • Advocate for patients' rights and ensure their dignity and respect are maintained at all times.

Required Skills

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with specialized training or certification in Mental Health Nursing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a mental health setting (inpatient, outpatient, or community).
  • Proven ability to conduct mental health assessments and develop care plans.
  • Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize and build rapport with diverse patient populations.
  • Proficiency in German (B2 level or higher) and English, both written and spoken.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of mental health legislation, ethical guidelines, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Resilience and ability to manage challenging situations with professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mental Health Nursing or a related field.
  • Specific experience with diverse patient groups (e.g., youth, older adults, substance abuse).
  • Additional language skills are a plus.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems specific to mental health.
  • Certifications in specialized therapies (e.g., CBT, DBT) or advanced life support.
