Your primary focus will be on offering person-centred care, respecting the dignity and individuality of each service user. This involves actively listening, providing reassurance, and engaging in supportive conversations as needed. You will be instrumental in assisting with the implementation of individual care plans, observing and accurately reporting any changes in service user behaviour or condition to the senior team. The night shift demands a vigilant and calm presence, ensuring the safety and security of the residents while also fostering an atmosphere of peace. Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred emotional and practical support to service users during overnight hours, maintaining a calm and reassuring presence.
- Monitor the well-being of residents, conducting regular welfare checks and observing any changes in their mental state or physical health.
- Assist service users with personal care needs and daily living activities, respecting their privacy and promoting independence.
- Accurately complete and maintain daily care records, incident reports, and other necessary documentation in accordance with policies.
- Adhere strictly to all safeguarding procedures and health and safety regulations to ensure a secure environment for all.
- Engage with service users in a supportive and therapeutic manner, encouraging positive coping strategies and participation in activities where appropriate.
- Administer medication as per training and care plans, strictly adhering to medication policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the senior team, colleagues, and other professionals, relaying important information and participating in handovers.
- Assist with household tasks and maintain cleanliness within the residential environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in mental health support.
