Job Description
We are seeking a highly creative and enthusiastic Merchandise Display Stylist to join our dynamic team in Chwaka, Zanzibar. This full-time role is integral to enhancing the visual appeal and commercial success of our exclusive resort boutiques and retail spaces. The Merchandise Display Stylist will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and executing captivating product displays that effectively highlight our unique range of handcrafted goods, fashion, local arts, and souvenir items. You will play a crucial role in creating an immersive and attractive shopping experience that encourages customer engagement and drives sales. Your passion for aesthetics, understanding of luxury retail trends, and ability to translate brand identity into stunning visual narratives will be key. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement innovative merchandise display strategies that align with Zanzibar Collection’s luxury brand identity and seasonal themes.
- Design and arrange visually appealing product presentations within retail spaces, ensuring optimal use of lighting, props, and signage.
- Regularly refresh and update displays to maintain novelty, respond to inventory changes, and promote new arrivals or special promotions.
- Ensure all merchandise is clearly priced, impeccably clean, and presented in a manner that maximizes sales potential and customer appeal.
- Collaborate with retail management and procurement teams to understand inventory levels, best-selling items, and upcoming product launches.
- Monitor display effectiveness and customer feedback, making adjustments as necessary to improve visual impact and sales performance.
- Maintain a keen awareness of current retail visual merchandising trends, competitor activities, and luxury market standards.
- Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and ensuring proper storage and handling of merchandise.
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety within all retail areas.
- Provide training and guidance to retail staff on display standards and product presentation techniques.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in visual merchandising, retail display, or a similar creative role.
- Exceptional artistic flair and a strong understanding of color theory, composition, and aesthetics.
- Ability to conceptualize and execute creative visual displays independently.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Proficiency in using various display tools, props, and materials.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management principles.
- Physical ability to lift and arrange merchandise, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring dexterity.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Visual Merchandising, Interior Design, Fashion Merchandising, or a related creative field.
- Experience within the luxury retail or hospitality sector.
- Familiarity with local Tanzanian crafts, arts, and cultural items.
- Proficiency in English and Swahili.
