Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently unpack and stock merchandise on shelves, ensuring proper placement, rotation, and expiry date management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor, including tidying shelves and clearing aisles.
  • Implement planograms and merchandising directives accurately to optimize product display and maximize sales.
  • Monitor inventory levels on the sales floor and in the backroom, communicating stock discrepancies or needs to management promptly.
  • Assist with receiving and processing new shipments, verifying quantities against invoices and preparing items for stocking.
  • Ensure products are correctly priced and promotional signage is accurately displayed according to current campaigns.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and operational procedures, including proper lifting techniques and equipment usage, to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and others.
  • Provide basic assistance and direction to customers as needed, maintaining a friendly and helpful demeanor.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and store staff to achieve daily goals, maintain store standards, and support overall operational efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in merchandising and stock rotation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced retail setting.
  • Basic understanding of retail operations and store merchandising principles.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and, occasionally, customers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a retail, grocery, or warehouse stocking role.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems or hand-held scanning devices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent secondary education.
