Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently collect, sort, and deliver documents, packages, and mail to various departments within the office, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform external courier duties, ensuring secure and prompt delivery of items to clients, vendors, and other business partners across Vacoas-Phoenix and surrounding areas.
- Maintain meticulous and accurate records of all deliveries and collections, including recipient signatures and time stamps for accountability.
- Manage the company's incoming and outgoing mail, including preparation for postal services and efficient handling of inter-office correspondence.
- Assist with general office administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, filing, and ensuring meeting rooms are properly set up and maintained.
- Ensure the proper maintenance, cleanliness, and safety checks of the company vehicle (if applicable), reporting any issues or maintenance needs promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, safety regulations, and road traffic laws to ensure safe and compliant operations.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information and materials with the utmost discretion, professionalism, and integrity.
- Proactively identify and report any potential issues, delays, or obstacles that could impact delivery schedules or office operations to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service when interacting with colleagues, clients, and external contacts, upholding the company's image.
Required Skills
- Valid Mauritian Driving License (car/motorcycle as applicable for the role's needs) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a messenger, courier, or in a similar delivery-focused role for at least 6 months
- Excellent knowledge of St Paul, Vacoas-Phoenix, and general Mauritius road networks and traffic patterns
- Strong time management, organizational, and route planning skills to ensure efficient task completion
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively under varying conditions
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with diverse individuals
- High level of reliability, punctuality, responsibility, and a strong work ethic
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 25 kg as required throughout the workday
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (Form V/SC or equivalent) or a relevant vocational qualification
- Familiarity with basic office equipment (e.g., photocopier, scanner, franking machine)
