Key Responsibilities

  • Generate accurate short-term and long-term weather forecasts using a variety of meteorological models and data sources.
  • Monitor real-time weather conditions, identify severe weather threats, and issue timely warnings and advisories.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of atmospheric data, including satellite imagery, radar data, and numerical weather prediction outputs.
  • Prepare comprehensive meteorological reports and presentations for internal teams and external clients.
  • Provide expert consultation on weather-related risks and impacts for specific projects and operational planning.
  • Develop and validate new forecasting techniques and tools to improve predictive accuracy.
  • Participate in climatological studies and long-term climate trend analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate meteorological insights into broader strategic initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in atmospheric science and meteorological technology.
  • Communicate complex weather phenomena clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.

Required Skills

  • Master's degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with numerical weather prediction (NWP) models and interpretation.
  • Strong proficiency in meteorological data analysis software and tools (e.g., Python, R, GIS).
  • Excellent understanding of synoptic and mesoscale meteorology.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and German.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce accurate forecasts and risk assessments under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications
