Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Microservices Developer to join our growing technology team in Bramley, Leeds. As a pivotal member of our engineering department, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our next-generation cloud-native applications built on a robust microservices architecture. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable, high-performance microservices using modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Collaborate with architects and other developers to define and implement microservices architecture patterns and best practices.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, adhering to TDD/BDD principles.
- Integrate microservices with various data stores, message queues (e.g., Kafka), and third-party APIs.
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality, security, and adherence to established standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our CI/CD pipelines, automating deployment and testing processes.
- Troubleshoot and debug production issues, providing timely resolutions and post-mortem analyses.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, advocating for their adoption where appropriate.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Java (e.g., Spring Boot) or a similar backend language (e.g., Go, Node.js).
- Strong experience with designing and implementing RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture principles, patterns, and best practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or activeMQ.
