Career.zycto is actively seeking dedicated and safety-conscious Mining Site Utility Workers to join our client’s operations in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales. As a Utility Worker, you will perform a diverse range of tasks, supporting various operational functions critical to the success of the mining site. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general labouring duties, including site clean-up, material handling, and basic equipment maintenance.
  • Operate various hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently as required for tasks.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons and operators with tasks such as spotting, rigging, and general support.
  • Conduct routine checks and inspections of site areas and equipment, reporting any faults or hazards promptly.
  • Adhere strictly to all site safety procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of materials, ensuring proper handling and storage.
  • Support environmental management initiatives on site, including waste segregation and disposal.
  • Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety meetings, actively contributing to a positive safety culture.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment to prevent hazards and improve operational efficiency.
  • Operate light vehicles and other mobile plant equipment (e.g., forklifts, skid steers) if appropriately licenced and authorised.
  • Report any incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions immediately to supervisors.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 18 months) in a physically demanding role, preferably within industrial, construction, or mining environments.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively within a team structure.
  • Strong understanding and commitment to workplace health and safety (WHS) principles.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to report issues clearly.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labour and work extended shifts.
  • Valid Australian Driver's Licence (manual vehicle preferred) and reliable transport.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current White Card (General Construction Induction Card).
  • First Aid certification.
  • Forklift Licence (LF Class).
  • Skid Steer Loader ticket (LS Class).
  • Experience operating other mobile plant equipment (e.g., excavators, loaders).
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or previous experience with equipment maintenance.
  • Confined Space and Working at Heights certificates.
