Job Description

Are you a visionary engineer with a passion for blending the digital and physical worlds? Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Mixed Reality Engineer to join our remote-first team. Your role will involve the full development lifecycle, from conceptualization and prototyping to optimization and deployment. You’ll be responsible for crafting sophisticated 3D user interfaces, implementing spatial tracking and interaction techniques, and integrating backend services to create seamless multi-user experiences. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement mixed reality applications and experiences for various platforms (e.g., HoloLens, Magic Leap, Quest Pro).
  • Develop highly optimized 3D graphics, user interfaces, and interaction models for spatial computing environments.
  • Integrate and optimize computer vision algorithms for spatial mapping, object recognition, and gesture tracking.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers, 3D artists, and other engineers to translate concepts into compelling MR products.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in C# and C++ within Unity or Unreal Engine.
  • Conduct performance profiling, debugging, and optimization for mixed reality applications.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in mixed reality hardware, software, and development tools.
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical documentation, and mentor junior team members.
  • Research and prototype new technologies and approaches to push the boundaries of mixed reality.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with at least 3 years focused on Mixed Reality (MR), Augmented Reality (AR), or Virtual Reality (VR) development.
  • Proficiency in Unity 3D or Unreal Engine for XR development.
  • Strong programming skills in C# (for Unity) or C++ (for Unreal Engine).
  • Solid understanding of 3D graphics principles, linear algebra, and spatial computing concepts.
  • Experience with MR platforms such as Microsoft HoloLens, Magic Leap, or other AR/VR headsets.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop complex user interfaces and interaction paradigms for immersive environments.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant technical field.
  • Experience with cloud services (Azure, AWS, GCP) for backend integration in MR applications.
  • Familiarity with advanced computer vision techniques, including SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping).
  • Prior experience with multi-user networked XR experiences.
  • Knowledge of design patterns and software architecture for scalable applications.
  • Portfolio demonstrating previous MR/AR/VR projects or contributions.
