As a Mortgage Advisor in this capacity, you will be a primary point of contact for clients, guiding them with expert advice and clear communication through every stage of their mortgage application. You will assess individual financial circumstances, explain complex mortgage products in an understandable manner, and prepare comprehensive applications for submission to lenders. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for mortgage clients, providing expert advice and support from initial enquiry through to completion.
  • Conduct thorough client needs assessments to identify suitable mortgage products and solutions.
  • Explain complex mortgage terms, conditions, and processes in clear, understandable language.
  • Meticulously gather, verify, and organize all required client documentation (e.g., proof of income, bank statements, identification).
  • Prepare and submit accurate and complete mortgage applications to various lenders.
  • Manage a pipeline of mortgage applications, tracking progress and proactively resolving issues.
  • Liaise effectively with lenders, solicitors, valuers, and other third parties to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Ensure all activities adhere strictly to FCA regulations and internal compliance procedures.
  • Provide regular updates to clients on the status of their application, managing expectations and addressing concerns.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate client records using CRM software.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling relevant financial products or services where appropriate.
  • Stay updated on market trends, product changes, and regulatory developments within the mortgage industry.

Required Skills

  • CeMAP (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice) qualified.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Mortgage Advisor or in a closely related financial advisory role.
  • Demonstrable experience in client support and comprehensive documentation management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills with an acute attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • In-depth knowledge of mortgage products, lending criteria, and the UK regulatory environment (FCA).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • A client-centric approach with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional financial services qualifications (e.g., advanced CeMAP modules, financial planning).
  • Experience with specific mortgage CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Twenty7Tec, Mortgage Brain).
  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding service level agreements and client satisfaction targets.
  • Familiarity with the Southport and wider Liverpool property market.
