Career.zycto is seeking a highly creative and skilled Motion Graphics Designer to join our vibrant team in Hawthorn East, Melbourne. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about visual storytelling and bringing concepts to life through dynamic animation and compelling visuals. As our new Motion Graphics Designer, you will play a pivotal role in conceptualizing, designing, and executing a wide range of motion graphics projects for various digital platforms, including social media, websites, presentations, and advertising campaigns.
You will work collaboratively with our creative directors, marketing specialists, and broader design team, transforming initial ideas and scripts into engaging animated content. This role requires a strong understanding of animation principles, graphic design fundamentals, and proficiency in industry-standard software. Your day-to-day will involve everything from developing initial storyboards and style frames to final animation and post-production, ensuring every piece of content is not only visually stunning but also effectively communicates the client’s message and aligns with brand guidelines. Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design, and animate high-quality 2D and 3D motion graphics for diverse digital platforms (web, social, video).
- Collaborate effectively with creative directors, art directors, and marketing teams to interpret project briefs and client objectives.
- Develop detailed storyboards, animatics, and style frames to visualize and gain approval for creative concepts.
- Utilize Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and other relevant software to produce captivating animated content.
- Ensure all motion graphics adhere to brand guidelines, maintain visual consistency, and meet technical specifications.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and deliver high-quality work within established deadlines.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends, techniques, and technologies in motion graphics, animation, and visual storytelling.
- Provide creative input and innovative solutions during brainstorming sessions and project development.
- Participate in design reviews and feedback sessions, effectively articulating design decisions and rationale.
- Optimize and export final assets in various formats suitable for different platforms and distribution channels.
Required Skills
- Expert proficiency in Adobe After Effects (including plugins and expressions).
- Strong understanding of fundamental animation principles (timing, spacing, anticipation, squash & stretch).
- Solid knowledge of graphic design principles, typography, color theory, and layout.
- Demonstrable experience with 2D animation and a foundational understanding of 3D principles.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for asset creation and manipulation.
- Excellent visual storytelling abilities and a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to manage projects from concept to completion independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of taking and applying feedback.
- A compelling online portfolio showcasing diverse motion graphics projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with 3D software (e.g., Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya).
- Familiarity with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro).
- Experience with sound design principles for motion graphics.
- Knowledge of UI/UX animation principles for interactive experiences.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Graphic Design, Animation, Motion Graphics, or a related creative field.
- Experience working in an agency environment.
