Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the careful packing, loading, and unloading of household goods, office furniture, and other items into and out of moving trucks.
- Precisely wrap and protect furniture, fragile items, and other valuables to prevent damage during transit.
- Safely lift, carry, and maneuver heavy items (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly, utilizing proper techniques and company-provided equipment.
- Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with the moving crew to ensure efficient and timely completion of all moving tasks.
- Maintain a professional, courteous, and respectful demeanor when interacting with clients and their property at all times.
- Operate moving equipment such as dollies, hand trucks, and furniture pads responsibly and safely.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and policies to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to property.
- Assist with the basic disassembly and reassembly of furniture as needed, following specific instructions.
- Help maintain the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of moving trucks and equipment before, during, and after each job.
- Communicate effectively with the crew leader and clients regarding move progress, potential issues, or client requests.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly and for extended periods.
- Strong physical stamina, endurance, and capability to perform demanding physical tasks.
- Excellent teamwork and verbal communication skills to coordinate with crew members and clients.
- Highly reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to completing tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently from crew leaders.
- Positive attitude, strong customer-focused approach, and professional conduct.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in moving, logistics, general labour, or a similarly physically demanding role.
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record (an asset, but not mandatory for this assistant role).
- Familiarity with basic furniture assembly/disassembly techniques.
- Familiarity with the Toronto area and surrounding regions for efficient navigation.
