Key Responsibilities
- Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images as prescribed by physicians.
- Prepare patients for MRI procedures, including explaining the process, screening for contraindications, and ensuring comfort and safety.
- Accurately position patients for various MRI examinations, adjusting imaging parameters as needed to optimize image quality.
- Monitor patients during scans, recognizing and responding to any adverse reactions or emergencies.
- Maintain precise and detailed patient records, including consent forms, screening questionnaires, and imaging data.
- Perform daily quality control checks on MRI equipment and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols, including magnet safety, radiation safety (if applicable in hybrid roles), and infection control.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Required Skills
- Current ARRT (MR) certification required.
- Active Indiana State Radiologic Technologist license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency in operating various MRI scanner models and imaging software.
- Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work precisely in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology.
- Advanced certification in MRI (e.g., ARRT (MR) advanced level).
- Experience with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a certified MRI Technologist in a clinical setting.
