Job Description
Are you a nurturing, experienced, and responsible individual with a profound passion for childcare? We are looking for an exceptional Nanny to join our family in Plaine Magnien and become a vital part of our children’s development and daily lives. This is a unique opportunity to provide dedicated, high-quality childcare in a warm, respectful, and supportive home environment. As our Nanny, you will be responsible for creating a safe, stimulating, and loving atmosphere for our children, fostering their cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth and well-being. This role goes beyond basic supervision; we seek someone who can actively engage with our children through age-appropriate activities, encourage their interests, assist with homework, and support their educational journey. You will also be entrusted with light household duties directly related to the children, such as preparing healthy meals, tidying play areas, organizing children’s laundry, and ensuring their environment is always clean, tidy, and conducive to play and learning. Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, loving, and consistent care for children.
- Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate educational and recreational activities.
- Prepare healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for children.
- Assist with homework and school projects, fostering a love for learning.
- Ensure children's safety and well-being at all times, both inside and outside the home.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for children, including tidying play areas and children's bedrooms.
- Manage children's laundry and organize their belongings.
- Assist with bath time, bedtime routines, and morning preparations.
- Communicate regularly and openly with parents regarding children's progress, activities, and any concerns.
- Drive children to and from school, appointments, and extracurricular activities (if applicable, with valid driver's license).
- Administer basic first aid if necessary and manage minor ailments.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in childcare, preferably in a private household setting.
- Exceptional patience, nurturing attitude, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to plan and execute engaging activities for children of various ages.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong understanding of child development stages and age-appropriate care.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain immediately).
- Fluency in English and Mauritian Creole.
- Ability to maintain a structured yet flexible routine.
Preferred Qualifications
- A diploma or certification in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Previous experience working with multiple children.
- Valid driving license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of healthy cooking for children.
- Ability to speak French is a plus.
