Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, nurturing, and engaging care for children.
- Plan and execute age-appropriate educational activities and creative play.
- Prepare healthy and nutritious meals and snacks, adhering to dietary needs and preferences.
- Manage children's daily routines, including sleep schedules, meals, and hygiene.
- Assist with homework and school projects as needed.
- Organize children's belongings and play areas; perform light housekeeping related to children.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with parents regarding children's daily activities, progress, and any concerns.
- Ensure children's safety and well-being at all times, both inside and outside the home.
- Accompany children to appointments, school, and extracurricular activities as required.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and trusting relationship with the children and family.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in childcare, nannying, or a related field (minimum 2 years).
- Excellent understanding of child development stages and age-appropriate care techniques.
- Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, and implement engaging and educational activities.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire).
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, reliability, and a loving approach to childcare.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) to effectively communicate with the family and children.
- Clean criminal record check and vulnerable sector check (or willingness to obtain prior to employment).
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada or willingness to undergo visa sponsorship process.
Preferred Qualifications
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma or relevant certifications.
- Experience caring for multiple children simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of an additional language.
- Experience with specific age groups (e.g., infants, toddlers, school-aged children).
