Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Implement and manage network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
  • Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
  • Develop and implement network backup and recovery strategies.
  • Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve network issues and implement new solutions.
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Conduct regular network audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for critical network support, ensuring rapid response to incidents.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance network functionality and efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Network Administrator.
  • Solid understanding of network operating systems (e.g., Cisco IOS, Windows Server, Linux).
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, OSPF, BGP).
  • Experience with network security best practices and tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS).
  • Proficiency in network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+).
  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for network automation.
