Key Responsibilities
- Assist Network Engineers in the configuration and deployment of network devices such as routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls.
- Perform initial setup and basic configuration changes on networking equipment following documented procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory of network hardware and software licenses.
- Support in creating and updating network documentation, including diagrams, configuration guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct preliminary network diagnostic tests and assist in troubleshooting connectivity issues under guidance.
- Monitor network performance and alert senior engineers to potential issues or anomalies.
- Collaborate with the broader IT team to ensure consistent network policies and security best practices.
- Participate in testing and validating new network configurations and updates.
- Provide remote technical support to internal and external stakeholders regarding network-related inquiries.
- Stay current with emerging network technologies and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Solid understanding of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP).
- Familiarity with network hardware from vendors like Cisco, Meraki, or HP Aruba.
- Experience with command-line interfaces (CLI) for network device configuration.
- Proficiency in using remote access tools and collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom).
