Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructures (LAN/WAN, VPN, Wireless).
- Configure and troubleshoot network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, FortiGate).
- Monitor network performance and availability, ensuring optimal uptime and service levels.
- Perform regular network security audits and implement necessary security measures to protect against threats.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate new systems and applications into the existing network architecture.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Respond to and resolve network incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
- Participate in on-call rotations for critical network support.
- Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies and solutions to enhance efficiency and security.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior IT staff and other departments.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), and switching (VLANs, STP).
- Hands-on experience with network security principles and technologies (VPN, IPS/IDS, Firewall management).
- Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco network equipment.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Knowledge of scripting for network automation (Python, Ansible).
- Familiarity with VoIP technologies and QoS implementation.
